Sharon Flynn is a passionate advocate of traditional fermentation techniques and food production.
She is on a mission to provide everyone the means and knowledge to make a variety of living fermented food and drink themselves, or at least be able to buy them, and know how to enjoy them once more.
Her business, The Fermentary, provides various ferments to independent stores and some of Melbourne's best restaurants, but foremost, Sharon hosts a wide variety of workshops, often inviting other passionate fermenters to share their expertise through events and tours. Sharon's book Ferment for Good became a best seller and her second book, Wild Drinks, is out in March,2022.
Her drive to share her passion earned her the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival badge of ‘Legend’ in 2021, and ‘Outstanding Artisan’ in 2016.
